POWER OF THE PEN

"By writing thousands of protest letters every year, Amnesty International Malaysia has played a role in freeing dozens of political prisoners. But really, it's just a drop in the ocean. There are still dozens more being wrongfully imposed for their opinions."
Awesome campaign, shows positive aspect but still pushes the need for more and doesn't have to use shock tactics for this.

FREE TIBET (amnesty)

For our Amnesty International awareness campaign I've decided to go down a FREE TIBET! route.

FLIP

while researching flipbooks for a drifting project I stumbled across this example, called THE SQUAMPKIN PATCH for a book of the same name by JT PETTY and illustrated by DAVID FRIEND.
a video of the flipbook in all its glory can be seen here.

TWENTYTWO DESIGN

the graphic design company I did work experience with over the summer have their new website up and running with samples of their work.
during my time at 22design I learnt how an independent design consultancy operates, which is an extremely useful insight.
talking to clients, billing clients,
time management and organization of briefs, finances etc are just a handful of what needs to be taken into consideration once you take your design work to a professional level.

TYPE WITH TAPE

we were put into small groups and told to create a typeface using tape, taking into consideration the properties of tape.
our group came up with "COALESCE" meaning:
1. to grow together or into one body

2. to unite so as to form one mass, community etc.

3. to blend or come together

our final outcome took elements from each of our design ideas that were unified by a whit
e tape layer.
our group worked well together, democratically, but without anyone being scared to say what they liked, didn't like or wanted.
